Audit Trail
In Arabicسجل التدقيق
A time-stamped record of what each user did on the fleet platform, showing who changed what and when.
What is an audit trail in fleet management?
An audit trail stores users' actions in the system in time order, such as editing a setting, creating an account or changing an alarm condition, together with the account and the time. It is the reference when something changes and nobody knows why, and when an auditor or customer asks for evidence of internal control.
In Safee it appears in the Audit log explorer, which can be filtered and downloaded.
How it works
- 1User performs an action on the platform
- 2System records the account and time
- 3Administrator reviews the log as needed
Why does an audit trail matter in fleet management?
Without an audit trail every unexpected change turns into guesswork, blame and hours of searching. With one, the facts are clear in minutes and the setting is put right, and users who know their changes are logged take more care. It also meets internal-audit needs and customer contracts that require tracking of data access.
What you gain
- A clear cause for every change
- Accountability per account
- Evidence ready for auditors
How does Safee help you see who changed what and when?
Safee keeps users' activity with the account name and time of each action, so you can trace any sudden change in minutes instead of guessing. Results can be downloaded and handed to an auditor or customer asking for evidence of internal control.
A field example
A supervisor at a pharma distributor in Riyadh noticed that warehouse-entry alarms had stopped for 12 refrigerated trucks, and theories ranged from faulty trackers to a platform fault. The administrator filtered the user activity log for the last three days and found that a dispatcher's account had edited the alarm condition. It was restored within an hour, alarm-editing rights were withdrawn from dispatchers, and the log is now reviewed monthly.
Frequently asked questions
How is an audit trail different from the command history?
The audit trail tracks what users do on the platform; the command history tracks what was sent to vehicle trackers and whether it ran.
Who should review the audit trail?
The system administrator or an internal auditor, not the users whose activity it records. A short monthly review is enough, plus a check whenever a change cannot be explained.
