Geofence Entry and Exit Alarm
In Arabicإنذار دخول المنطقة الجغرافية والخروج منها
An alarm raised when a vehicle enters or leaves a defined geofence, logging the time and place of the crossing.
What is a geofence entry and exit alarm in fleet management?
A geofence entry and exit alarm turns every crossing of a geofence boundary into an event logged with its time and place. You know when the truck reached the customer, when it left the depot and who entered a restricted site, without calling the driver.
It is the most widely used location alarm and can be set for entry only, exit only or both. Dwell time at each site is worked out from the entry and exit times.
How it works
- 1Zone and vehicles are chosen
- 2Platform detects boundary crossings
- 3Alarm logged, notification sent
Why does a geofence entry and exit alarm matter in fleet management?
Arrival and departure times are how you prove service to a client, work out waiting time at sites and catch unauthorised visits. Without them the office relies on drivers' calls and estimates, which are inaccurate and waste everyone's time.
What you gain
- Documented arrival and departure
- Restricted-site entries flagged
- Reliable site and trip reports
How does Safee help track geofence entries and exits?
Safee logs every entry and exit for every vehicle at every geofence and builds the Vehicle Geofence Movement Details Report and dwell-time figures from them. You decide which sites deserve an instant notification, such as restricted areas, and which only need logging for reports.
A field example
A container haulier in Sharjah kept losing waiting-time disputes with clients because it had no documented times. It set up entry and exit alarms on 35 client yards and port berths. Every truck's time at every site now appeared in the Vehicle Geofence Movement Details Report. In the first quarter the company recovered waiting charges for 210 hours it used to write off.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get an alarm on exit only?
Yes. The alarm can be set for entry only or exit only, but dwell-time figures and the Vehicle Geofence Movement Details Report need both to be tracked.
Which geofence shapes does it work with?
Polygons, circles and paths (approved routes), meaning any zone with a boundary. A point of interest has no boundary, so it cannot be crossed.
