Geofence Report

In Arabicتقرير المناطق الجغرافية

In short

A report listing the vehicles or drivers that entered a geofence over a period, with entry and exit times and the length of each visit.

What is a geofence report in fleet management?

A geofence report answers everyday questions: who visited this site, when did they arrive and leave, how long did they stay and how far did they drive inside?

It is built either from recorded trips, checked retrospectively for any zone and any period, or from entry and exit alarms set up in advance. The first suits investigating an old incident; the second suits routine follow-up.

How it works

  1. 1A zone and period are chosen
  2. 2Trips are matched against its boundary
  3. 3Each visit shows duration and distance

Why does a geofence report matter in fleet management?

This is your evidence when a customer says the truck never arrived, or when you want to know which sites hold your vehicles longest. It underpins service time per customer, checks on billed visits and the reconstruction of a vehicle's movements after an accident or theft.

What you gain

  • Proof of arrival and departure
  • Time on site per location
  • Retrospective investigation

How does Safee help you run geofence reports?

Safee offers two forms: the Geofence Backtracking Report, which reads recorded trips for any zone and period with no setup, and the Vehicle Geofence Movement Details Report, built on Geofence Enter and Exit alarms, which can be scheduled and sent by email. Both can be run by vehicle or by driver.

A field example

Sharjah · E-commerce delivery

A last-mile e-commerce courier in Sharjah received a complaint from a mall that its riders never came to collect returns. It ran a geofence report on the mall for 30 days and found 26 visits averaging only four minutes. The collection dock turned out to be closed in the mornings, so riders left. The company moved collections to the afternoon and closed the complaint with evidence.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to set up an alarm before running a geofence report?

Not always. A backtracking report reads recorded trips directly; the scheduled detailed report relies on an entry and exit alarm.

Can the report be run by driver instead of vehicle?

Yes. It can be run by vehicle or by driver, which helps when several drivers share the same vehicle.
