Live Monitoring
In Arabicالمراقبة المباشرة
Watching every vehicle's position and status on a map as it happens, based on the latest message from its tracker.
What is live monitoring in fleet management?
Live monitoring means seeing the fleet while it works: where each vehicle is now, whether it is moving, parked or idling, and when it last reported. How current it is depends on how often the tracker transmits and how often the screen refreshes.
On Safee's Monitoring page vehicles appear on an auto-refreshing map, coloured by status, with a messaging table of each vehicle's latest data. A trail of the last five minutes can be drawn behind every vehicle to show its direction.
How it works
- 1Tracker sends position and status regularly
- 2Platform receives it and updates the data
- 3Map shows each vehicle's latest state
Why does live monitoring matter in fleet management?
Without a live picture, supervisors learn about delays, detours and unexplained stops when the customer rings to complain. Live monitoring cuts response time: send the nearest vehicle to an urgent job, call a driver parked where he should not be, or give a customer an honest arrival time. After a breakdown or accident on a highway, minutes matter for the driver and the load.
What you gain
- Every vehicle's position, right now
- Faster response to delays and breakdowns
- More reliable arrival times
How does Safee help with live monitoring?
Safee shows the whole fleet on a map that refreshes on its own, with colours that give away each vehicle's status, and lets you split monitoring by branch, area or driver. Supervisors see delays and unexplained stops as they happen, and call the driver or send another vehicle before the customer rings to complain.
A field example
A cold-chain food distributor in Jeddah running 60 trucks was fielding daily complaints from retailers about late deliveries. The supervisor set up one monitoring screen per area and focused on trucks idling in the morning. Nine trucks were spending about 40 minutes at the same fuel station before their first drop. Refuelling moved to the end of the shift, and late-delivery complaints halved within a month.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between live monitoring and path history?
Live monitoring shows where a vehicle is now; path history redraws what it did over a past period, with events and speeds.
How often does a vehicle's position update on screen?
The tracker reports at its own configured rate; in Safee you can set the screen to refresh every 30 seconds to 10 minutes, and selected vehicles can refresh as often as once a second with Augmented Tracking.
What happens on the map when a vehicle loses connection?
It stays at its last known position and turns dark grey once the silence passes the offline threshold the company has set.
