Maintenance Task
In Arabicمهمة الصيانة
A scheduled alarm raised automatically when a vehicle reaches its service point by odometer, date or engine hours.
What is a maintenance task in fleet management?
A maintenance task is one line in your maintenance plan: what needs doing, to which vehicles, and when it falls due (its maintenance trigger). Instead of tracking dates in a separate spreadsheet, the system watches odometers and calendars and alerts you at the right moment.
In Safee maintenance tasks are created on the Maintenance Tasks page. One task covers a group of vehicles (its task level), raises an alarm and notification when due, and can be sent to the driver mobile app.
How it works
- 1Vehicles and due condition chosen
- 2Odometer and dates tracked automatically
- 3Alarm and notification when due
Why does a maintenance task matter in fleet management?
A vehicle that misses an oil change or brake check fails on the road, and recovery, emergency repair and a late load cost many times more than the scheduled service. An automated reminder moves service dates from a supervisor's memory into the system, so nothing slips when the fleet grows or the person in charge changes.
What you gain
- No forgotten service dates
- One reminder covers dozens of vehicles
- Driver alerted on their phone
How does Safee help you keep track of service dates?
Safee keeps track of service dates for every vehicle instead of a supervisor's memory, alerting the person in charge the moment service is due, and the driver on their phone if you wish. One reminder can cover dozens of same-model vehicles.
A field example
An Al Ahsa cement haulier with 60 trucks tracked oil changes in a spreadsheet kept by one supervisor and had three engine failures in a quarter. It set up an 'Engine oil change' reminder per truck model, sent to the current driver, who now gets the alert on his phone and books the workshop himself. In six months no truck ran more than 500 km past its oil change.
Frequently asked questions
How is a maintenance task different from a normal alarm?
A maintenance task is a scheduled alarm tied to odometer, date or engine hours and stays due until the service is done. A normal alarm reports an instant event such as speeding.
Can maintenance tasks go to drivers?
Yes, through the driver mobile app: either the driver assigned to the vehicle when it falls due, or specific drivers you choose in advance.
