Fuel Level Correction

In Arabicتصحيح مستوى الوقود

In short

Filtering fuel level readings to remove jumps caused by fuel sloshing in the tank on rough roads, so they do not show up as phantom fills.

What is fuel level correction in fleet management?

Fuel moves around the tank on every bend, bump and slope, so the sensor reading swings up and down while the volume stays the same. Build fill detection on those raw readings and you get fills that never happened.

Tracking platforms therefore filter readings before acting on them. In Safee, the Fuel Level Correction setting checks any rise in level against the Fuel min fill threshold, telling a genuine fill from a jump caused by a rough road. It is separate from calibration, which turns readings into litres.

How it works

  1. 1Sensor sends fluctuating readings
  2. 2System checks rises against fill threshold
  3. 3Real fills kept, noise ignored

Why does fuel level correction matter in fleet management?

Without correction, reports fill up with phantom fills, especially on quarry trucks and unpaved routes. The result is either suspicion of innocent drivers or alarms being ignored altogether, with the real incidents lost among them.

What you gain

  • Removes phantom fills
  • More credible alerts
  • Cleaner fuel graph

How does Safee help with fuel level correction?

Safee tells a real fill from a jump caused by road vibration, so the fuel graph stays readable and recorded fills stay close to station receipts. Supervisors get alerts they take seriously instead of learning to ignore them.

A field example

Al Ain · Quarries and crushers

A crusher operator in Al Ain hauls aggregate with 25 tippers on dirt roads. Its fill report logged over 40 fills a day, mostly 5 to 15 litres while driving. The company turned on fuel level correction with a 30-litre minimum fill. Recorded fills now match station receipts, and supervisors have started taking the alerts seriously again.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the fuel level fluctuate on the graph while the truck is moving?

Fuel sloshes in the tank with motion and gradients, so the sensor reads a changing height. Correction and good calibration reduce it.

What is the difference between fuel level correction and calibration?

Calibration converts the sensor's raw reading into litres. Correction cleans those litres of the jumps caused by fuel moving in the tank.

Can fuel level correction hide a real fill?

Not as long as the fill is larger than the minimum threshold, so set it below your smallest normal fill.
