Driver Coaching
In Arabicتوجيه السائقين
Regular sessions in which a supervisor reviews a driver's data with him, agrees what to improve and measures the result.
What is driver coaching in fleet management?
Coaching is the step that turns telematics data into real change. Knowing who breaks the rules is not enough; the supervisor sits down with the driver, shows him specific events with date and place, agrees a measurable target and follows up.
Safee does not run coaching sessions, but it supplies the material: driver rankings to choose who to start with, the detail of each event on the map, and video clips where cameras are fitted.
How it works
- 1Pick drivers from the scorecard
- 2Review specific events with them
- 3Measure improvement next month
Why does driver coaching matter in fleet management?
Alarms alone lose their effect within weeks if nobody talks to the driver. Coaching built on specific evidence changes behaviour faster than blanket penalties, cuts crashes and fuel use, and shows good drivers their effort is noticed.
What you gain
- Lasting change, not a blip
- Evidence-based conversations
- Effort focused on highest risk
How does Safee help with driver coaching?
Safee hands the supervisor the material for each session: a monthly ranking that shows who to start with, second-by-second detail of the event on the map, and the video clip where cameras are fitted. The same report the following month shows whether the driver really improved.
A field example
A school-transport operator in Dubai runs 90 buses and received parents' complaints about speeding near schools. From the monthly report it identified 15 drivers responsible for 60% of speeding events and held a 20-minute session with each to review their alarm clips. Two months later those drivers' violations were down 70% and the complaints stopped, without a single dismissal.
Frequently asked questions
How often should drivers be coached?
A short session after any serious event, and a monthly review for red-band drivers until they stay out of it for two consecutive months.
Is coaching a replacement for disciplinary action?
It is the first step; discipline follows when the same behaviour repeats despite documented coaching.
