Reverse Geocoding

In Arabicالترميز الجغرافي العكسي

In short

Converting a vehicle's latitude and longitude into an address people understand: street, district and city.

What is reverse geocoding in fleet management?

A tracker sends numbers such as 24.7136, 46.6753, which mean nothing to a supervisor or a customer. Reverse geocoding matches those coordinates against a map database and returns the nearest known address. Because every lookup costs time and money, tracking platforms fetch addresses on demand rather than for every message.

In Safee the address appears on request in the address column on the Monitoring page, and next to messages in reports.

How it works

  1. 1Tracker sends coordinates
  2. 2Service matches them to map data
  3. 3Platform shows the nearest address

Why does reverse geocoding matter in fleet management?

Reports and customer correspondence need addresses, not coordinates. A clear address in a stops report or message log shortens complaint investigations and makes the report readable for people who never open the map, such as accountants, customers or insurers.

What you gain

  • Readable addresses in reports
  • Faster complaint investigation
  • Reports anyone can read

How does Safee help turn coordinates into addresses?

Safee turns a vehicle's coordinates into a readable address when you need it, and places addresses next to messages in reports. A customer or manager gets a report showing street, district and time, with no one having to open the map or interpret coordinates.

A field example

Medina · Lift maintenance

A lift-maintenance company in Medina received a complaint that its technician had missed an appointment. The supervisor checked the van's message log with addresses: it had reached the same street on time and stayed 40 minutes. He sent the customer the report with address and time instead of coordinates, and the complaint was closed the same day. The company now attaches this report to every attendance complaint.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between geocoding and reverse geocoding?

Geocoding turns an address into coordinates, for example to place a customer on the map. Reverse geocoding turns a vehicle's coordinates into an address.

Is the address always exact?

It is the nearest known address to the coordinates, so it can be slightly off where the map has little detail.
