Video Telematics
In Arabicالمراقبة بالفيديو للمركبات
Vehicle cameras linked to the tracking system, giving a live view and keeping a video clip for every alarm or violation.
What is video telematics in fleet management?
Video telematics adds cameras and a mobile digital video recorder (MDVR) to tracking, so you can see the road and the driver and tie every event to footage. Modern systems analyse the image to detect driver drowsiness or distraction and forward collision risk.
Safee offers it as V-IVMS with three licences: Silver for live stream, playback and alarm clips; Gold adds DSM, ADAS and OBD alarms; Platinum adds downloading any footage from the recorder.
How it works
- 1Recorder stores camera footage continuously
- 2An alarm marks the clip needed
- 3Clip reaches the platform with alarm
Why does video telematics matter in fleet management?
Video settles what numbers cannot: who caused the crash, and whether the driver was looking at a phone. It protects good drivers from false claims and makes coaching sessions about a real scene rather than opinion.
What you gain
- Visual evidence for every crash
- Protects drivers from false claims
- Coaching based on real footage
How does Safee help with video telematics?
Safee ties each alarm to its clip automatically, so the supervisor sees what happened without waiting for the vehicle to return or searching hours of footage. Live view is there when needed, and drowsiness, distraction and collision-risk alarms arrive with their evidence.
A field example
A staff-bus operator in Sharjah faced 14 accident claims in a year, most without witnesses. It fitted forward and cabin cameras to 50 buses, with clips arriving automatically on braking and collision-risk alarms. Over the next six months the footage cleared its drivers in 5 of 6 incidents. Drowsiness alarms also fell once the supervisor used the clips in coaching sessions.
Frequently asked questions
Do the cameras record all the time?
The in-vehicle recorder records continuously; the platform pulls only the clips tied to alarms to save data. Other footage can be requested when needed.
How is video telematics different from an ordinary dashcam?
An ordinary dashcam only records, and you check it after the event. Video telematics links footage to location and alarms and sends clips to the platform straight away.
