Speed Report
In Arabicتقرير السرعة
A report showing each vehicle's maximum and average speed over a chosen period, with the drivers who drove it.
What is a speed report in fleet management?
A speed report summarises how a vehicle moved over a period: the highest speed recorded and its average speed while driving. Maximum speed shows risk-taking; average speed shows the nature of the work, since a very low average means congestion or frequent stops.
In a sound report the average is distance divided by driving time only, so stops do not drag it down. Each vehicle is listed with the people who drove it, so the figure lands on the right driver.
How it works
- 1Tracker records speed in each message
- 2System calculates maximum and average
- 3Report lists each vehicle with its drivers
Why does a speed report matter in fleet management?
Speed is one of the biggest factors in crash severity and pushes fuel use up noticeably on highways. The report separates habitual speeders from one-off spikes, and gives realistic travel times for planning routes and promising delivery slots to customers.
What you gain
- Exposes habitual speeders
- Realistic delivery-time estimates
- Basis for regular safety reviews
How does Safee help you review vehicle speeds?
Safee's Speed Report shows each vehicle's maximum and average speed together with its drivers, so you know who needs a conversation before a crash happens. When a high figure keeps recurring, the Alarm Report shows exactly where and when the limit was broken.
A field example
An oil-field services firm in Jubail sets a 100 km/h limit on field roads. Its weekly speed report showed 6 of 70 vehicles regularly topping 130 km/h, with averages 15 km/h above the rest. Their drivers were coached and an overspeed alarm was switched on for those vehicles. Within a month, readings above 120 km/h had disappeared.
Frequently asked questions
How is average speed calculated in a speed report?
Distance driven divided by actual driving time, so time spent stopped is left out.
How is a speed report different from an overspeed alarm?
The alarm arrives the moment a limit is broken so a supervisor can act; the report summarises speeds over a whole period for comparison and review.
