Fuel Distribution Monitoring
In Arabicمراقبة توزيع الوقود
Tracking how much fuel road tankers offload at each station or customer site, using a meter that counts what leaves the tank.
What is fuel distribution monitoring in fleet management?
For fuel-haulage fleets the cargo matters more than the truck's own fuel: how many litres left the tanker, where and when. A meter on the discharge line sends one pulse per fixed quantity, so the system knows what was offloaded at each site and ties it to the tanker's position and time.
In Safee this is the separately licensed Fuel Distribution module, with the Fuel Distribution Report of offloading operations and the Restricted Fuel Offloading alarm condition for offloading at a location that is not allowed.
How it works
- 1Meter pulses as fuel flows out
- 2System converts pulses to quantity
- 3Offload logged with place and time
Why does fuel distribution monitoring matter in fleet management?
A 200-litre short delivery on every run never shows on the invoice, but it adds up to heavy losses and customer disputes. With time, place and quantity on record for every offload, you settle disputes with figures and catch offloading at unapproved locations before it becomes a habit.
What you gain
- Proof of quantity per station
- Catches offloading off-site
- Settles customer disputes
How does Safee help with fuel distribution monitoring?
Safee logs every offload with its quantity, location and time, and totals them by tanker, day or customer site. An instant alert fires if offloading starts somewhere unapproved, so you can act while the tanker is still there.
A field example
A diesel distributor in Sohar serves 45 stations and construction-site generators with 18 tankers, and several customers complained of short deliveries. The offload log showed two tankers dropping short batches of 150 to 300 litres on an empty lot near the industrial area. The company set an alert for offloading outside customer sites and held the drivers to account. The incidents stopped and complaints ended within a month.
Frequently asked questions
How is fuel distribution monitoring different from fuel theft prevention?
Distribution monitoring tracks the tanker's cargo offloaded to customers; fuel theft prevention concerns the fuel in the vehicle's own tank.
Does fuel distribution monitoring need a special sensor?
Yes. It needs a pulse counter on the discharge line connected to the tracker, set to the quantity each pulse represents.
