Release 3.12.1: Pulse-Based Fuel Sensor Support

Version: 3.12.1

Release 3.12.1 supports a new fuel source: pulse-based sensors for tracking fuel consumption.

Configuring a pulse-based fuel sensor

Key characteristics

  • Accumulated pulse counting: the kind of sensor integrated sends an accumulated pulse count since installation, though calculations begin once data transmission to the platform starts, for better accuracy.
  • Data limitations: because the sensor transmits only cumulative consumption, the platform cannot provide fuel level or percentage readings.

Available metrics:

  • Total fuel consumed.
  • Per-trip fuel usage.
  • Idle fuel consumption.

You must define the conversion equation that links the pulse count to the actual fuel volume; the system then automatically processes the accumulated values to determine consumption patterns across trips and idle periods. This lets organizations that measure fuel by pulses track their consumption directly within Safee.
